Park Ridge police: Woman struck car, signs, fire hydrant and more while driving drunk

The following items were taken from the Park Ridge Police Department bulletin. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Disorderly Conduct

•Christopher Hirst, 26, of the 700 block of North Merrill Street, Park Ridge, was charged with disorderly conduct on June 23, police said. According to police, a 65-year-old man accused Hirst of charging at him with a golf club in his hand during an argument on June 17. Hirst was given a July 27 court date.

•Karen Janeth Nieves, 34, of the 6000 block of West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct on June 25 after police said residents of a home on the 900 block of South Rose Avenue accused her of pounding on their door at 6 a.m., yelling to be let inside, and then urinating on their front steps. According to police, Nieves was found lying in bushes nearby and appeared intoxicated. She was given a July 27 court date.

Battery

•A 17-year-old Chicago boy was charged with battery on June 22 after police said he was accused of spitting on a security guard at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, 1775 W. Dempster St., after a doctor recommended he be put in restraints. He was given a July 17 court date.

Theft

•Brandon Galitz, 30, of the 3900 block of West Pulaski Road, Chicago, was charged with retail theft on June 20, police said. According to police, Galitz was accused of consuming a sandwich and drink at Mariano’s, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., without paying for the items.

DUI

•Mitchell R. Addison, 26, of the 600 block of Orlando Avenue, Normal, was charged with driving under the influence, assault, driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage on June 21, police said. According to police, a 29-year-old man said he encountered Addison while Addison was changing a tire on the 1000 block of North Northwest Highway. When the man told Addison he was calling a tow truck, police said Addison allegedly retrieved an object from his car and began chasing the man with it. Police said the object was later determined to be an empty knife sheath, though a knife was found inside Addison’s car. He was given a July 20 court date.

•Keanna Shae Tomasini, 25, of the 200 block of Owen Place, Prospect Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, damage to city property and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on the morning of June 21, police said. According to police, Tomasini was driving southeast on Northwest Highway when she rear-ended a car near Meacham Avenue. She then continued driving, hitting a pole, tree, flower pot, two parking signs and a fire hydrant, police said. Both Tomasini and the driver of the car she was accused of hitting were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, police said. Tomasini was given a July 10 court date.

•Jozef Paciora, 54, of the 300 block of Lawn Lane, Des Plaines, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving an uninsured vehicle, and improper lane usage on the night of June 21, police said. He was taken into custody on the 900 block of Riverside Drive and given a July 24 court date.

•Javier Hernandez-Mendoza, 37, of the 6400 block of North Hermitage, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license on the night of June 22, police said. He was taken into custody at Touhy Avenue and Dee Road and given a July 20 court date.

•Elizabeth Perozzi, 52, of the 8300 block of North Osceola Avenue, Niles, was charged with driving under the influence on June 24, police said. She was taken into custody on the 900 block of North Northwest Highway at 10:22 p.m.

Curfew

•Two 13-year-old boys and two 14-year-old boys, all from Park Ridge, were cited for violating curfew on the morning of June 17 after police responded to a call of a possible car burglary on the 1700 block of Elliott Street after midnight. According to police, a resident reported seeing four teens on bikes attempt to enter her car. While searching the area, police located four boys on bicycles in the area of Tyrell Avenue and Manor Lane. No criminal charges were filed against them and an investigation was continuing, police said.

Burglary

•Tools were reportedly stolen from a construction site on the 1400 block of North Marcus Court overnight between June 16 and June 17.

Burglary to Vehicle

•Three cars parked on the 200 block of North Redfield Court were reported burglarized on the morning of June 16. It was not known if the cars were locked or unlocked at the time, police said.

•A car on the 1100 block of North Lincoln Avenue was burglarized on the morning of June 16, but nothing appeared to be stolen, police said.

•Overnight between June 15 and June 16, two cars, parked on the 600 block of South Delphia Avenue and the 600 block of South Lincoln Avenue, were burglarized, police said. One was left unlocked, according to police.

•A car parked on the 1400 block of South Fairview Avenue was burglarized overnight between June 18 and June 19, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.

•A wallet was reported stolen from a car parked on the 1300 block of North Northwest Highway between June 21 and 22.

Property Damage

•A garbage can was set on fire overnight between June 15 and June 16 on the 100 block of South Western Avenue, police said.

•Tires were reportedly slashed on cars parked overnight between June 14 and June 15 on the 1500 block of Marguerite Street, on the morning of June 15 on the 1700 block of Woodland Avenue, on the morning of June 16 on the 1800 block of Glenview Avenue, and between June 15 and June 21 on the 500 block of Meacham Avenue.

•Several car mirrors were reported damaged between June 14 and 21.The reported incidents occurred on the 1100 block of North Western Avenue, the 2700 block of Manor Lane, the 2800 block of Farrell Avenue, the 1000 block of South Crescent Avenue, the 900 block of Tomawadee Drive, the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Hoffman Avenue, and the 400 block of West Talcott Road.

Theft

•A man was seen stealing two bottles of tequila from a store on the 2600 block of Dempster Street on the night of June 21, police said.
