Hayes Gets Burned On Twitter After Saying Conservatives ‘Operate On Grievance and Persecution’

Twitter users clapped back at Chris Hayes after he said conservatives only care about free speech on college campuses because they use “grievance and persecution” as their “emotional fuel.”

“If you haven’t been paying attention to right wing media recently,it’s *amazing* how much attention current campus controversies have gotten,” Hayes began his Twitter storm.

He then argued that conservatives only care about campus issues because their “emotional fuel is grievance and persecution, so they need to focus on Berkeley campus.”

But modern conservatism’s emotional fuel is grievance and persecution, so they need to focus on Berkeley campus.

The rant ended, “You’d think liberal arts undergrads had the nuclear codes.”

Conservatives quickly fired back at Hayes:

@chrislhayes Some of us are more worried in a broader context about the fragile and insular nature of the modern student.https://t.co/Ntbc2ButlQ

@chrislhayes I’ve litigated campus 1A cases for 15 years. We represent students arrested for distributing the Constitution. https://t.co/lwv5Kg30yO

@chrislhayes If people at Berkeley didn’t lose their shit because somebody was invited to speak, it wouldn’t be news.

@chrislhayes Remind me, Chris: when was the last time a liberal speaker, or their supporters, were attacked on campus?

Let’s hope Hayes didn’t get too triggered by the Twitter assault.
